BEFORE I KNEW IT

topic posted Sun, November 14, 2004 - 3:01 PM by  Cracker McGr...
here is a before for ya.....There is a small area on the main tier of my new back yard that the previous owner left a bunch of crap in. Its a third if the first of the three backyards. A nice area (without the crap) A couple rotting pallets, old fence gate, rusty planters, blah blah blah. I started to clean it up so I could level it up a bit with a step and put in some grass (for max, my dog) and BEFORE I knew it I had removed about 40 square feet of concrete....... AFTER I was finished I got a lil scared...... Hope I know what Im doing.....lol, N8N

I know how you feel Nathan. *laughs* do any of us REALLY know what we're doing? I think we just get these ideas and in our minds we see exactly how to do it. THEN when we actually get started it seems harder, and the doubts set in. I know your back yard will be great as soon as you get all that crap out of it. maybe you can re-use some of the concrete to make some flag stones...I've seen that done on HGTV. All the rest, get rid of it! Think of it as a feng shui moment...clearing out the clutter!

thanks lorinda, It looks 1000% better without the crap in it at least. I did use some of the concrets as stepping stone kinda things, the rest was gonna be made into a short retaining wallbut i noticed as i was starting, if I build that area up even the 9 in to a foot I was thining, I'll screw up the whole drainage systen.....lol, guess Im glad i figured that out NOW..... I guess it'll kust get a small garden area for some ferns and such, the rest will keep its slight grade, and get seed or sod...... I think sods outta season, sigh.... my timing is impeckable....lol, N8n
